GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE COUNCIL & ITS MEMBERSHIP

|
|
CHEMEXCIL : WHAT IT REPRESENTS
|
|
|
With a view to create a favorable export climate, the Govt. of India has set up
a number of Organizations solely devoted to the task of promoting the exports of
India’s traditional and non-traditional items. Basic Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals
and Cosmetics Export Promotion Council or CHEMEXCIL,
comprising representatives of industry, Trade and the Government, is one such Organization.

CHEMEXCIL has Four separate Panels, each Panel being
a specialized unit, guiding the export interest of the items covered under its purview.
These Panels are:

PANEL – I : DYES & DYE INTERMEDIATES
|
|
|
|
|
|
PANEL - II : BASIC INORGANIC &
ORGANIC CHEMICALS INCLUDING AGRO CHEMICALS
|
|
|
|
|
|
PANEL - III : COSMETICS, TOILETRIES,
ESSENTIAL OILS.
|
|
|
|
|
|
PANEL - IV : CASTOR OILS.
|
|
|
|
|
|
The Council undertakes foreign market studies and surveys, sends trade missions
to explore new markets, lays down quality and packing standards according to international
norms and looks into complaints, if any, on these aspects.
It assists exporters by advising or representing to Government, local authorities
and Public Bodies on problems affecting export trade. Efforts are directed
to ensure supply of quality products at competitive prices to major foreign markets.
CHEMEXCIL is the catalyst in brining dynamic Indian
exporters and overseas imports together, thus strengthening its commitment to establish
friendly and permanent business relations between Indian and foreign buyers.

COMMITTEE OF ADMINISTRATION
|
|
|
The affairs of the Council are managed by a Committee who shall be the Managing
Body of the Council. The Committee consists of elected members- both Manufacturer
and Merchant Exporters, Govt. Nominees and Co-opted members.

CATEGORIES OF MEMBERS & ELIGIBILITY FOR MEMBERSHIP.

Categories of members of the Council
The Council shall have the following categories of members, viz : -
(a) Associate
Members
(b) Ordinary
Members

(a)

Associate Members
|
|
|
A person shall be eligible for admission to the Council as Associate Member on receiving
the Import-Export Code Number from the Director General of Foreign Trade, Government
of India, in respect of the products with which the Council is concerned.
|
|
|
|
|
(b)
|
Ordinary membership
|
|
|
In order to be eligible for ordinary membership of the Council, a person must satisfy
the following requirements, viz
|
|
|
|

He, or the entity represented by him, must have, to his or its credit, during the
three financial years immediately preceding, average exports in respect of the products,
of not less than the amount mention below :
|
|
|
|
i) Small
Scale Industries Rs.10 Lakhs
|
|
|
ii) Others
Rs.25 Lakhs
|
|
|
|
|
|
